Less than one hour south of Torino we were amazed at how beautiful the Langhe wine country is. The vineyards, hills and medieval towns are picture perfect and rival what you see in Tuscany.
We had a Sunday lunch at a great "agriturismo" (a working farm which prepares meals with local fresh foods) that ended up being a 3.5-hour, nine-course meal that was absolutely fabulous.
I can't take credit for these photos - I stole them from the web
We also visited a great winery and tasted the wines (and bought some too). This is the area where Barolo, the most famous wine of Italy is grown along with it's younger brother wine - Barbaresco. We even toured the wine opener (cavatappi) museum!
